Implementing school based telehealth

Implementing school based telehealth centers to increase accessibility to healthcare in underserved communities.

Connecting students from local schools to local doctors through telehealth creates a bridge that connects local healthcare providers to the school’s pediatric population. In school-based health system, school nurses provide hands on assessments of the child, so the doctor can provide clinical advice. This gives the opportunity for all students, regardless of family income or housing status the ability to have accessible healthcare.

Throughout the United States many school districts have experimented with a school based telehealth system, all with varying degrees of success. Yet the rise of COVID-19 , has provided new opportunities that have allowed telehealth services to become more common practice.
