It has been said that “there are no heroes…in life, the monsters win.”

 

It has been said that “there are no heroes…in life, the monsters win.” But monsters also often “win” in literature as well. We’ve read a lot of texts that deal with monsters this semester, or aspects of the “monstrous”. Choose three instances in which the monsters “won” and explain how. You need not consider merely physical battles, or actual monsters. Human beings can be monsters as well, and battles are not always physical.
