Each medication must include information regarding the following:
1. Medication and desired action
2. Category (ABCDX) for pregnancy and lactation
3. Recommended dosage and route (the dosage may be different for different uses, ex. Magnesium sulfate)
4. Contraindications (especially for the hypertensive or cardiac patient)
5. Adverse effects (side effects are expected. How would you recognize a significant problem?)
6. Nursing considerations to include client education!
