Conduct a search of the recent issues of the Federal Register. This publication can be accessed at http:// www.federalregister.gov. Regulations are sorted by agency. Examples of agencies that may have proposed regulations affecting healthcare are: • Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services • Food and Drug Administration • National Center for Health Statistics • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Regulation number c. What agency has submitted this regulation? d. Summary of regulation e. How does your proposed regulation apply to HIM? f. What changes would this regulation cause in healthcare and HIM? g. What comments would you submit to the agency proposing the regulation? h. What deadline is there for submitting comments?
