OER training materials from another institution

One of the beauties of OER is that material is freely shared. Materials will not need to be built from the ground up because others have already done the work. There are many wonderful training opportunities to learn more about OER, aimed at a particular audience and with a particular focus. For the first exercise for this course you will review OER training materials from another institution. You will then identify useful content from those materials. These will be remixed, revised, and redistributed in our course.

Instructions:
Select one of the resources below or find another resource with training material for those new to OER.
Look through the resource and identify useful content. Note: Some of the resources have a lot of content, you don’t need to review all of it. Just pick a few sections and review those.
Create an online document that can be shared with everyone (such as a Google Doc or web page). Make sure if you use Google Docs that you give others permission to view your document.
Identify the resource you are reviewing at the top of your document. Be sure to include a link to the resource. If you only reviewed part of a resource, identify which sections were reviewed.
Select the material you found most compelling, interesting, useful, etc. Copy and modify the material and post it on your document. Highlight or indicate the modifications you have made.
Identify the CC license of the resource and identify that on your review.
Share the link to your document on this page by typing your name below the resource and hyperlinking your name to your review. Review the directions for hyperlinking in Canvas (Links to an external site.) if you need more help. To double check your work, click your hyperlinked name to see if it goes to your online document.
