Describe its operations in terms of the transformed resources, transforming resources and outputs.
Evaluate the relative importance of the 5 performance objectives (quality, speed, flexibility, dependability and cost) for this organisation. Use a suitable model to evaluate the strategic importance of operations to your organisation.
Use the Product-Process Matrix to describe graphically the characteristics of your organisation’s processes and products/services in terms of the type and volume and variety. Evaluate how this combination of characteristics impacts on flexibility and cost for your organisation.
Select one of layout and flow or process technology. Describe how the type of layout and flow or process technology contributes to the design of your operations. Evaluate its effectiveness in achieving quality for the customer and potential improvements that might be made.
Discuss your own contribution to quality improvement in this context.
Your response should be in the form of a written report between 1,500 and 2,000 words.
