David Hilfiker’s essay, “Mistakes” is directed mainly at doctors and confronts the culture of secrecy surrounding medical mistakes. Yet, doctors are not the only
source of mistakes within the medical community. Should other medical professionals, such as nurses, admit their mistakes to their patients? What procedures should be
in place to provide support for medical professionals who make a mistake?
