One of the amazing aspects of the infancy period (typically defined as birth to two years of age), is how dramatically children develop and change in this short two-year period of time. To help you appreciate this change, I want you to find three videos on the internet (e.g., YouTube). One video should be of a newborn, one video should show an approximately 1-year- old infant, and one video should show an approximately 2-year-old child. List the sites of each of the videos and then discuss the following.
What motor skills did they seem to have at each age?
What language skills did they seem to have at each age?
How interactive with their surrounding environments were they at each age?
What change(s) did you find most dramatic between these three ages?
