When you think of PR you may imagine bold, front page feature stories in the newspaper, high profile press conferences or the glitz and glamour of TV

interviews. We can say with certainty that PR is about far more than that. There are many misconceptions and lots of misinformation about what PR entails.

There is constant debate around PR’s definition. The definition we used for class is that public relations is the management of communication between an

organization and its publics and that is true. The goal of any public relations strategy is to build and maintain credibility with your target audience. PR

builds brand recognition with many different communication channels. PR is critical to building and maintaining a brands positive relationships with media and

it influences and it helps a brand stand apart from its competitors.
