Sitting Spot Journals

Try to build a relationship with your sitting spot. Wherever your sitting spot is, in the city or the country, you are asked to visit that spot minimum once a week, and at different times of day. Building a relationship with a place is not unlike building a relationship with a human being: you just have to put in the work. I’d ask that you do your course readings there, whenever possible. I’d like you to keep a journal, and make regular (either neatly printed by hand or typed)

journal entries that a) describe what you observe at your sitting spot, b) make recourse to the relevant chapters from Drew Monkman’s Nature’s Year, and c) critically reflect on course materials on a week-by-week basis.
