Birthing Resources- Women Writer needed- CANADA

Order Description

ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS AS A CANADIAN CITIZEN LIVING IN MISSISSAUGA OR TORONTO.

Historically women gave birth at home with the support of family members and possibly someone who served a similar role to a midwife today. Today midwifery along with numerous variations in childbirth are available depending upon where you live. Despite the return interest and practice of home birth, most women in Canada still choose to give birth in hospitals with the assistance of a physician. This is contrary to many places throughout the world (eg. England, Holland, New Zealand).

1)As you gather your own community’s birth resources and options, please consider the likelihood with which you would choose the options available to you where you currently live.

2)Consider what factors might influence your decision from one method to the other.

3)Find out what community resources are available for birth. Compile a list of the various types of options (midwife assisted births, home birth, rooming in for dads, water births, natural childbirth, etc.)

4)Use the phone book (yellow pages), doctor’s offices, hospitals, public health dept., etc. to identify the resources within your community and list them along with the city they pertain to.
