For a detailed description and examples, read this description by writers on Poets.org: https://www.poets.org/poetsorg/poems?field_form_tid=404
Write a cento made of poems by a single author. (You’ll find a list of POETS FROM WHICH TO CHOOSE IN 28 poets.)
How long? Long enough: by May 5 you should know when you see a complete poem. (ABOUT 10 LINES)
Only one line from each source poem.
Identify the source of each line.
Make sure the poem makes sense. You may change the terminal punctuation of a line from the original source to your poem.
You will be writing your paper about the poet whose work you use for the cento. Read 20 to 25 poems by this poet.
Make a list of the poems by this author that you read. Include a link to the poem when possible. Write one (or two) sentences about each poem,
indicating its subject, tone, and techniques that you find noteworthy.
