CEP project

Description

The Final Cultural Engagement Project (CEP) will consist of a final PowerPoint presentation that will need to be uploaded to the online course portal no later than December 6. Students will choose THREE cultural events to participate in outside of class. Cultural Engagement activities include: historical film screenings (limited to one film for the CEP), plays, museum exhibits, local history tours, campus activities for black history or women’s history month, visits to local archives (with engagement with primary sources), community service, academic lectures, or any combination of cultural experiences the student finds interesting. The CEP activities MUST take place during the semester in which you are enrolled in the course. i.e. you cannot use past cultural experiences as evidence of CEP activities for this assignment. The PowerPoint should include the following: Evidence of participation (i.e. a selfie, ticket stub, short clip of experience), a 200-300 word description of the activity, a 200-300 word analysis of the activity and its historical relevance. Finally, the PowerPoint should include a 30-45 second personal video where the student reflects on the experience of participating in the cultural activities chosen for their project.

Examples of this project can be found in the Module’s Portion of the Canvas.
