After reading Tan’s (2011) Chapter 14 regarding Christian faith in clinical practice, reading Corey’s integration and integrative approach to counseling Stan (throughout the text), completing the survey by Ed Neukrug, and completing multiple counselor identity inventories, you will write a seven- to eight-page paper. You will reflect on and describe your developing counselor identity and theoretical orientation as well as assess your skill development throughout the course. Discuss how you might approach counseling clients based on your own strengths, skills, worldview, and faith integration beliefs. Please utilize the information from the course readings to support your work and find at least three to four peer-reviewed journal articles to strengthen your case. You must also include Tan’s (2011) text as a cited reference. Your paper should have a clear introduction, main points, reference page, and will be graded according to the CAGS critical thinking and written communication skills rubrics. Make sure to format and write in the most current APA format. You should cite all of your sources. Please submit your final essay by the due date posted by clicking the Session 13 Final Paper link. Please break your paper into the following sections: Part One: Reflect upon the growth in your counseling skills over the past thirteen sessions. Consider what skills came naturally for you and what skills were more difficult for you to implement. How did you notice your skills improve over the duration of the course? Part Two: Summarize where you believe you are within your current counselor development. Address where you believe you are related to your counseling skills, professional behaviors, and professional dispositions. Reflect on your emerging theoretical orientation and make sure to consider your multicultural competency as well. Include areas of strength and areas of continued growth. Within your summary, include two (2) specific counseling skills, one (1) specific professional behavior, one (1) specific professional disposition, and one (1) theoretical orientation you would like to be intentional in continuing to develop over the course of the next six months. Develop a plan of how you will work toward developing the identified skills, behavior, disposition, and theoretical orientation. Within your plan discuss how you will know you have improved in those specific areas. Part Three: Evaluate your multicultural competency as you reflect on your growth during this course. Also, discuss how your spiritual perspective affects your view of multicultural competencies as they relate to your counselor development. Please be sure to integrate biblical support.
