What does it take to make it?
The memoir, The Other Wes Moore by Wes Moore, touches upon a number of sociological factors that still ring true in our society today. You will be writing a research paper on one of these factors. The paper should focus on how that factor influenced the success and failure of each Wes. SHOW me how this factor is true and how it presents itself in each Wes’s life. Remember, most of the factors we have discussed are very broad and your task is to look at and discuss your topic with a more specific lens. For example, if the impact of role models is your focus, what is it about the role models in each Wes’ life that helped or hurt each? Which role model had an impact and why? Do role models need to be alive in order to have a continued impact on a person’s life?
Also, you need to incorporate outside research to support the claim you arè making. We will be attending an information literacy session where Madel will show you how to use the databases to find research supporting and extending your understanding of your research topic. You must use this research in your paper in order to demonstrate the importance of and continued impact of these issues in relation to society as a whole. You must include at least FOUR sources from a database – these may be news or research articles, or any other reliable source available. Also, you must incorporate evidence from the book, The Other Wes Moore.
